Call for papers
Since 2007 the Swiss Society of Musicological Research (Schweizerische Musikforschende
Gesellschaft / Société Suisse de Musicologie) biannually awards the Handschin-Prize for junior researchers. The Handschin-Prize is endowed with 10’000 CHF. Since 2014 qualified candidates are invited to submit a proposal directly to the Society. The SMG/SSM will consider proposals by researchers having obtained their doctoral degree between 1.1.2016 - 31.12.2017 and
- who are Swiss citizens or
- who have obtained their doctorate at a Swiss Institution or
- who work at a Swiss musical institution for more than 25% since over one year or
- whose dissertation constitutes a substantial contribution to the study of Swiss music,
independently of the citizenship and academic affiliation of the applicant.
Applications can be submitted to the office of the SMG/SSM until 20.3.2018, electronic
submissions may be sent to the secretary Benedict Zemp (benedict.zemp@musik.unibe.ch).
Applications should include:
- the PhD thesis (printed and digital)
- a letter of motivation
- a Curriculum Vitæ
