Swiss Poster Collection

The Swiss Poster Collection contains posters created by Swiss and foreign graphic artists. It proposes pictorial records of Swiss and European culture from the end of the 19th century to the present in various domains, notably tourism, exhibits, advertisement, cultural events, sports and politics.

The posters described in the catalogue are held in the collections of the Swiss National Library (NL), the Library of Geneva (BGE), the Wallis Mediathek, and the Museum of transports Luzern.

International Association for Alpine History (IAAH)


The International Association for Alpine History (IAAH) is a forum opened to scholars and academics working in universities, research centres, archives and museums. It also welcomes local and regional history students and enthusiasts, as well as anyone who cultivates a keen interest in Alpine history either directly or indirectly.

Swiss Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies (SSECS)


The society maintains the exchange of research projects, informs the public, promotes research and organizes events.

Archives of Rural History (ARH)


The ARH systematically attempts to discover and collect documentary records of private persons, federations, political organisations, private firms, etc. relating to the agricultural sector and to rural society in the 19th and 20th centuries. The AHR does not store the archival records itself but instead deposits them in existing archives (Swiss Federal Archives in Bern, cantonal or communal archives).

Swiss National Sound Archives - Online Catalog

The online catalog documents the Swiss sound heritage (Helvetica) preserved in the archives of the Swiss National Sound Archives. The following types of search are possible:

  • Simple search: search Google-style or by name, title, subject
  • Advanced search: specify and associate particular search criteria
  • Topic search: browse search for spoken documents (conferences, interviews, theatrical performances, audio books, ...)

Swiss National Sound Archives


The Swiss National Sound Archives collects, documents and makes available to the general public all the audio carriers that, because of their content, have a link with the history and culture of the country.

The collections contain: Products of the record industry; SUISA Deposit; Audio documents related to scientific research; Deposit of the Swiss National Library; Recordings of historical radio broadcasts (from 1932 up to about 1955).
